It has brought people closer to their families and because of this, they are connecting with their roots and adopting design trends that their mothers and grandmothers used to follow. These include farshi ghararas, lehngas, and traditional long shirts with deeper color palettes such as rustic reds and golds. Yellow and Orange are making a huge comeback as well with lots of layers, mirrors and gota work.”
In a conversation with Nikita Agarwal, Khadija Batool shares her story.
Born with her love for fashion, Khadija Batool wanted to be a designer even as a child. She has put a lot of effort in establishing her brand and achieving her dreams. Talking about Samsara by Khadija Batool, she says “the brand was established in 2014 as a means to provide artistic clothing and inspire creativity in bridals and luxury pret. The motive was primarily that I believe clothes should not be just clothes but should instead have a story and create meaning for those who wear them.”
Continuing with the thought of making our bond with our roots stronger, she has designed her latest collection.
“For this wedding season, we’re planning on focusing on finesse and beauty within small things. Hence, we are planning a collection that goes back to our roots and focuses on the traditional puritan art of our country and the subcontinent. And it’s all about Vintage – planning something deeper than just fashion – where we are capturing the essence of the design and the romance of life rather than just the glitz and glamour.”
